Nothing brings our attention sharply into focus like bad news or an unexpected change in circumstances. It doesn’t always have to be something sinister, but now and then something stops us in our tracks and makes us think “what am I doing with my life?”
It doesn’t mean that big decisions have to be made, but now and then it’s important to find out what’s calling you and what matters most. There’s an old saying that no one ever dies wishing they’d spent more time at work. But if all we are doing is living pay day to pay day then before we know it we wake up one morning and realise we’ve turned a corner in our own history, and we are running out of time to follow our dreams. The good news is it’s never too late.
This week, set the intention to follow the call. Listen to what your heart is telling you and what it is you truly want. Pay attention to that noise that reminds you there’s more to life every time you find yourself getting wound up in details and entangled in unhealthy thinking. And take a break from busy-ness for long enough to work out what it is you really want.
