When was the last time you celebrated something?
I don’t mean a birthday necessarily, or an event like a promotion.
I’m talking about the small wins:
Making it to 5pm.
Not losing your temper with someone who is really testing your patience.
Finding your way through one of life’s curve balls.
Every time someone attends one of my classes, I suggest they reward themselves for coming. Not just because they made the effort to show up, but because it’s literally good for you and your brain. When you treat yourself for a job well done (whatever that success looks like) then it might help you stay focused on what you can do, rather than what you can’t. It might even help you stIck to new, healthier habits so you can break old ones. Win-win.
This week, set the intention to Plan the Party. Write yourself a list of three things that you’ll do at the end of today, the end of the week and the end of the month that says you made it. Whether it’s a night out with a friend, a treat on pay-day or a warm bath and an early night, give yourself permission to celebrate.
