Monday Mojo – Find Your Wish

What do you wish for right now? If I asked you this question 12 months ago, you might have given me a completely different answer for the New Year ahead.

You might have had sights on a new career.
A holiday to in the sun.
Maybe even a new home; a complete change of scenery.

And then, in March, everything changed.  It’s probably fair to say, none of us had this on our Vision Board.

As we take small steps towards January, it would be understandable if you’re nervous about making any plans. As many counties have now moved into Tier 4, we’ve found ourselves wanting different things from 2021:
• more time with loved ones
• the freedom to shop and travel where we want
• in short, the end of the pandemic.

With still so much uncertainty in the world, it might feel like we should put our plans on hold. But honestly, if anyone deserves to strive towards the life they wish for, it’s you. And it might start with asking for what you want.

Here’s something you could try:

Set the intention to Find Your Wish. In this video, Jennifer Cohen shares her experience of when she asked Keanu Reeves to help her get a job interview. She explains that just boldly asking for what you want can get you further than you might think; it’s the old rule of “if you don’t ask, you don’t get”.  But she also explains that it’s important not to settle for something you don’t want or need.

You might also find that holding a clear intention in your mind of your aspirations for the future can help. When I talk about goals, I don’t use SMART objectives; the reason is, if you suffer with anxiety, the last thing you need is more pressure to succeed. Instead, I suggest just having an idea that’s focused on your why – your purpose and what brings you meaning. Then you can make a plan that can gives your ‘why’ shape. You don’t have to have all the answers yet; just think big picture in your mind and imagine how wonderful it all will be.
