Monday Mojo – Make It Happen

Now before I begin, if you saw the title of this week’s mojo and thought, “honestly, who has the energy for that?” I want you to know I get it.

If, like me, over the last few weeks you’ve been keeping one eye on the news here in the U.K., on everything from the Omicron variant to “Party Gate” then you won’t be alone in thinking it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. You may have been able to turn a blind eye to it, but equally you may have felt all the feels.

That said, with the new year looming it can be an opportunity to think about how you want to set intentions for 2022. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I don’t buy into the “New Year, New You” ideal anymore, but sometimes we do see January 1st as a chance to reset. Just because the people on the news can’t always give us the answers we need, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t find our own at a pace that feels right.

Goal setting isn’t about putting yourself under pressure, it’s more about having an idea in your mind about the direction of travel, especially if you don’t want to stay where you are.

Whatever “it” is, here’s what might help:

This week, maybe set the intention to Make It Happen. In her book about manifestation of the same name, Jordanna Levin gives some instructions for thinking about how we go about getting what we need. She encourages us to think about our limiting beliefs (this article might also help) alongside doing “shadow work” that asks us to think about what’s really holding us back. (I also touch on the concept in my book, out next year).

In this article, I talk about compassionate goal setting, and why it’s also important to have “walk away points”. There will be times when you need to check where you’re going is where you want to end up, and maybe for example make time to revisit your goals.

In any event, whether you want to “manifest a life of abundance”, or just want to take a few steps on the next part or your journey, do it your way. Don’t let other people tell you what success looks like for you.
