Monday Mojo – feel-good motivation for the week ahead: Welcome It In
The thing about the New Year is that nothing is known or guaranteed. There’s an element of hope, brimmed with, well… uncertainty.
Of course, we’re not saying everything has to go our way in 2018 (although, okay, that would be nice). But to some extent we want to be ready for it.
To control what we can.
To figure out what doesn’t work for us.
And make space for all the good stuff.
There will always be people and events that don’t turn out the way we hoped, but the skill is being able to welcome these events when they arise, and then move forward.
This week, set the intention to Welcome It In. If something doesn’t go your way, or events take a surprising turn, look behind their meaning. Why this? Why now? Not in terms of apportioning blame, but deciding reasonably what you can control and what you can’t. Embrace the uncertainty by recognising what’s working for you and what isn’t. Know who – or what – brings out the best in you, and slowly – when the time feels right – begin to release the things that don’t have your best interests at heart. Then be ready for the good stuff when it arrives.
