blip. is my single-session service for people who’ve hit a bump in the road and would like a safe space to vent, or talk through how they feel and what they need. This may be particularly useful for people who just want to get something off their chest in a non-judgemental space, or perhaps consider a goal or options for change in a solution-focused way.
This is not counselling in the “traditional” sense of the word, in that sessions are booked as and when needed, rather than (for example) several weeks at a time; in fact, clients can only book a maximum of one appointment a month (and are not obliged to book any more than one, it could just be a “one-off”). It’s not a deep dive in to the past or to provide all the answers, but about giving people a safe space to pause, breathe and talk about what’s present for them.
How blip. can help
“Single-session therapy by design” is a well-established approach to helping people who need occasional space to talk and find impartial, unbiased support useful. If this sounds like something that would help, you can complete the intake form below and will receive a reply during working hours to arrange a time to speak.
When requesting a session, you will be asked what you need from the list below:
- someone to listen
- a solution-focused discussion
- suggestions and signposting
- combination of the above
You can also use this service to interpret dreams you’re having.
Sessions are via Zoom and last up to 75 minutes – a 25 minute and 50 minute option is available – and are subject to availability. Clients can book “retainer” sessions (e.g. book ahead once a month for six months) and receive a discount; please ask for details. Please read policies for full terms and conditions.

Who is this for?
Sometimes people want someone just to listen, other times they might need some pointers about what might help. The session is guided by you, based on what you put in your intake form (see below) and what you feel you need at the start of the session.
Here are some examples of how blip. might work for you:
- You need to offload about something that happened at work, and you just want someone to listen
- You’re looking for tips on confidence or how to be more assertive in specific scenarios
- You’d like to create a vision for your future and need somewhere to start
You could also use blip. if you have a dream you want to explore (a 25 minute session may be enough for this).
This service is suitable for people aged 18+ based in the UK, and is confidential with exceptions – for example if it becomes obvious that a person is at risk or breaking the law, steps will be taken to ensure theirs or others safety, by approaching the appropriate authorities.
blip. is not suitable for those who may need a more intense form of regular therapy, such as trauma therapy, or who have severe or enduring mental health concerns that need regular monitoring, or who are currently in crisis. For services that may be able to provide that type of support, this list of links may be useful. Samaritans are also available 24/7 on 116 123.
How to book
To request a session, complete the Intake Form below. Once your request is received, you’ll receive a response during working hours (usually Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) to arrange a brief chat to see how I may be able to help. (This may be established by email, if not preferred). If you have any questions about the service before you pay or book, use this page.
Once you’ve completed the intake form below, you’ll be sent a link to make your payment. Once payment is made, your appointment will be confirmed (or agreed if we haven’t already spoken) and you’ll be sent a Zoom link for our meeting. You have a 7 day “cooling off” period to cancel your appointment (unless the appointment is booked within that window). If you need to change the appointment after that, you will be given the option to reschedule; refunds are not available after 7 days of booking.
When you hit submit, you will be directed to a payment page – you don’t have to pay at this point, if you’d rather wait for confirmation your request has been received. You can select the price you want to pay for the length you’d like a session (minimum spend £20). If for any reason, the service is not available within a month of making your payment, you will receive a refund. If you”re not ready to make your payment yet that’s fine, your request will still be received; you can simply close the payment page and will receive a response to your request within office hours.
Pricing:
- £20 for 25mins
- £40 for 50 mins
- £60 for 75 mins (you can request a longer session below, and we can discuss pricing).

Preparing for your session
You will have the opportunity to speak first before your “official” appointment to understand what you need and how the session can help. You’ll be encouraged to prepare for your session, say 30 minutes before (to think about what you want to get from it) and to take time out for up to 30 minutes after, to allow for reflection and to start your action plan, as required.
You will be offered a follow up appointment, however this is optional.
Please remember: blip. is not suitable for those who may need a more intense form of regular therapy, such as trauma therapy, have severe or enduring mental health concerns that need regular monitoring, or who are currently in crisis.
